Born in Toronto in 1957 under the name Metro Sportswear, the company changed it in 1985 to Snow Goose, and finally in the 90's the brand settled on what we all now know as Canada Goose. Originally a manufacturer of insulated wool-based products, in the 1970's Canada Goose dove into the production of down winter jackets for men and women. Having a large portion of their clientele located in Northern Canada and other frigid environments, the brand has a background in creating insulated pieces, like the Expedition Parka, that can withstand any cold climate. Police officers, construction workers and cameramen and actors/actresses from Hollywood all swear by Canada Goose when working in the North.
The classic down jacket models will be timeless: Trillium, Chilliwack, Kensington, Montebello, Chateau, Borden Bomber, and Hybridge jacket, are just the tip of the iceberg. They have also expanded into accessories such as down-filled gloves for men and women and down-filled mitts for men and women. Another huge success was their line of beanies and pilot hats for men and women.
Today Canada Goose is one of the biggest producers of insulated down jackets in the world, being distributed in over 40 countries, and the jackets are still proudly made in Canada. In an age where production is being outsourced to keep prices down, Canada Goose has firmly planted its roots in our fine nation.
My first CG jacket ever, absolutely love it! Absolutely love this jacket. Granted, everyone has different perceptions of what 'cold' is, but this jacket kept me warm in -26 degrees with windchill (Canadian weather mind you) with just a light knit underneath, and I didn't even have to zip up the jacket! Also, I have the fushion fit style of this jacket. Thanks Canada Goose for making my first purchase a wonderful experience.
Fits Like a Glove and Warm as Toast! I bought this Shelburne Parka for Christmas. I debated between the Kensington and the Shelburne but chose the Shelburne because I preferred the snap closures in the front over the zipper. I absolutely love it. We had sub-zero temperatures and high winds during the holiday season and this coat kept me extremely warm. I have 2 daughters for whom I purchased, for each, the Victoria jacket (it is shorter than the Shelburne and does not have horizontal stitching.) They loved their coats. Also, hey tried on my coat and each one (short and tall) looked wonderful in this coat. I am 5'4", 125 pounds and it is a perfect fit!!!
Warm! doesn't let the cold in. I bought this for my wife and then bought another for my step daughter. They both say it is so warm that they don't feel the cold and love it. They wear one short sleeve layer underneath and don't need multiple layers of cloths to feel warm. The quality, fit and trim of the product is perfect, and most meticulous. It perfectly shows off the female form and is not bulky. They appreciate there was a fit for them in XS size.
